Free agent strong safety Roman Harper hopes to return to the Carolina Panthers for another season per an ESPN report. According to the report, Harper plans to speak with his agent in the coming weeks to see if that is a possibility.
Harper has spent the last two seasons with the Panthers, after spending his entire career with the New Orleans Saints. Harpers has helped a young Panthers secondary grow and become one of the best in the NFL. In his two seasons with the Panthers, Harper has four interceptions, one touchdown, 135 tackles and one forced fumble.
However Harper, 33, understands it’s a business and there are many decisions to be made before general manager Dave Gettleman gets to him.
If Harper were to return to the Panthers, he'd likely have to accept a veteran minimum one or two year deal. "I would like to be here (Carolina), but it’s a business. I don’t control everything that happens" Harper said.
