The Carolina Panthers began their 2016 training camp at Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC tonight, and here are just a few of the highlights and things for Panthers Nation to look forward too.
(1) Cam Newton appears to already to be midseason form, and its just day one. Now think about that for a moment, think about how scary that should be for the rest of the NFL. Newton was spot on with his throws to Kelvin Benjamin, Ted Ginn, Devin Funchess, Greg Olsen and others. Newton appeared to have absolutely no rust at all.
(2) The Twin Towers, Kelvin Benjamin and Devin Funchess looked very good on opening night of training camp. Both caught deep balls, dig routes and post routes. Neither dropped a single pass from Newton all night. If this duo stats healthy, opposing NFL secondaries will have fits trying to cover them.
(3) Rookie cornerbacks Zack Sanchez and Darryl Worley both looked very good for their first training camp practice. In fact, Sanchez interception a slate route from back-up QB Derek Anderson and took it untouched back for a pick six! And throughout the practice Worley and Sanchez both made great reads and good plays on balls thrown their direction.
(4) Panthers fans turned out in full force for the Panthers first practice of 2016. Fans arrived at Wofford College three hours before the gates even opened and stood in line in the 100+ degree heat index for hours just waiting to get in.
