The NFL trade deadline is quickly approaching, only a week away, but for the struggling Carolina Panthers, they should strongly consider trading backup QB Derek Anderson.
Anderson has been thought of the last few years as the best backup QB in the NFL, and has been the Panthers safety net when Cam Newton has been unable to go. But for a struggling Panthers team that has a lot a needs, a good backup QB isn't a priority anymore.
There are quite a few teams I think the Panthers could make a deal with for Anderson and get a good return for him. The Browns, Dolphins and 49ers just to name a few.
If the Panthers could work out a deal for Anderson and get a quality LT, DE or secondary help, I think the Panthers should pull the trigger on it and not think twice about it.
